Time continues if you are having fun or not.

After taking a month off from work, I can safely say that time appears to pass by much more quickly when you are having fun. The reality is time is relative and it moves at the same pace no matter what you do.

Having said that, I would rather enjoy myself then not and the month that I took off, was all fun and good times.

The best part of my life, is I love what I do for work and what I do for work is provide a service to people that makes their lives less complicated, saves them time, money and insures the security that they get what they pay for.

Taking the time off gave me the opportunity to look into the rearview mirror and reflect on what I have been doing and to look ahead and to see where I am heading.

I have a lot of thoughts on both, especially where I am heading.

As I looked at the past, I can see that the road was smooth, not too bumpy and more or less straight. It has been a very comfortable ride. Looking ahead, I see more of the same for but for me, I can see my exit in the way up ahead, can’t make out the words on the sign, but I can start to see what appears to be an exit.

Someone once said, if you are not making plans for the future, then you are planning to fail. I have made plans for the future and I am still fine tuning them.

Stay tuned as you are part of my plans for my future.

My first experience with Uber

My first experience with Uber was a pleasure.

No reason to go into the details of the who, what, where, and when, but just from the technical aspect and the follow up. First the Follow up.

After the ride I received this email from Uber and if you read it you will see why I am posting it.

We’d love for you to help us spread the word about Uber! Below is your custom Uber invite code. Each friend that signs up with your code will receive $15 off their first Uber ride. For each person you refer that takes a ride, we’ll add $15 in Uber credit to your account. It’s the ultimate Uber win-win, and there’s no limit to how much credit you can earn.

Secondly the application.

I opened the app, logged in using my FaceBook account because I could not remember my password. I typed in the addresses to and from. The only reason I had to type in the from is because I was using this to pick up someone that was coming to me rather than me to them. In seconds, it calculated the rate and how long it would be before the car arrived at the pick up location.  I clicked on accept and then a map appeared showing me the location of the Uber car and the time in minutes when it would arrive.

After they picked up the passenger, the map changed and it showed me the time it would take to get to the agreed upon location.  Their mapping features are outstanding and their rates are better than taking a taxi.  I would also like to comment on the driver, he was a nice guy and he he was more than grateful when I gave him a tip (which I did not think he expected).

I cannot wait to use them again.

In My Car- Episode – 150804PM

Another in an ongoing series of reflections of life as recorded 08/05/2015 while driving in my car from where I am to where I am going. This session I am ranting about how the EBT people bought all the whipped cream at Sam’s Club
